Parents & Family

Take turns pulling cards. Parents Read the prompt aloud. The drawer answers first, then others share. Ensure a respectful and open atmosphere. Encourage stories and deep exploration without rushing. Create a safe space for expressing feelings.

Use follow-up questions for deeper understanding.

Use prompts as a springboard for creative imaginative stories or scenarios, enhancing creative thinking. Encourage collective discussion, bouncing ideas off of one another to boost engagement.

General Tips:
Adaptability: Aim for 30 min of constructive discussions. You will not complete all cards in each session.
Safe Environment: Ensure a judgment-free zone for open sharing of thoughts and feelings.
End by sharing what you valued about the session and any insights gained about each other.

Educators / Therapist / Facilitators (Group Session)

Objective: Facilitate meaningful discussions among children to enhance social skills, empathy, and critical thinking.

Preparation: Familiarize with the Deck: Review the conversation cards to understand the topics covered. This will help you select cards that are most appropriate for the age group and the objectives of the session.

Explain the Purpose: Briefly explain the purpose of the activity to the children. Highlight that it’s a safe space for sharing thoughts and listening to others.

Set the Environment: Arrange the seating in a circle or semi-circle to encourage openness and visibility among the children. Ensure the space is comfortable and free of distractions.

Warm-Up: Start with a simple icebreaker to get everyone comfortable. This could be a quick round of introductions or a simple question that everyone answers.

Draw Cards: Randomly draw a card from the deck and read the question or prompt aloud.

Pass the Baton: Use a token or a small object as a “talking baton.” Only the person holding the baton can speak, ensuring everyone has the chance to contribute without interruptions. After they’ve shared their thoughts, they can pass the baton to another child who wants to add to the conversation or answer next. Encourage listening and respect for different viewpoints.

Group Reflection: After each round of questions, facilitate a brief group reflection.

Closure: Conclude the session with a positive note, praising the children for their participation and sharing. Highlight any insightful or thoughtful contributions made during the discussion.
